We tried to get some before and after pictures of the surgery. In the pre-surgery ones you can see (if you zoom in) what the hole in his stomach looks like even though the intestines are still covered by that blue blanket.

post surgery pics- you can see the bag that they attached - we thought it would be on his side but instead they have it right on the center of his belly where the intestines came out. It is a clear bag and you can see a quarter-sized hole in through it leading to his gut area where you can see some of his intestines still. You can see (pictures don't do justice) that his side where they had to open him up a little more then stitch him back up is a little swollen still. They also put the broviac line in his thigh instead of chest.

He had a rough surgery but all went well and he's doing good. He is up on the support systems and had to receive extra blood but that was all expected. We just have to give him a few days to recover then the doctors said we should be able to hold him!!! We are so excited!
